IEC RHEOSTAT ROTARY WIRE WOUND 100W 50ohm 1.5A
A useful rotary potentiometer that can dissipate 100 wats of power. Resistance is 50 ohms and power dissipation is 100 watts. This calculates to a permissible current of about 1.5 amps.
The unit is fitted with 3x 4mm spin free IEC terminals so it can be used as either a rheostat (variable resistance) or a potentiometer (a voltage divider).
The rear of the unit is open to allow students to see the construction of a Potentiometer or a Rheostat. The body behind the front panel is ceramic and at full dissipation of 100 watts it is hot to touch. Always supervise its use.
