IEC CAPACITOR AIR AEPINUS 200mm AND 283mm SQUARE ADJUSTABLE 2-250pF
The IEC Aepinus Air Capacitor is used to study the theory of capacitance and charge whilst using air as the insulation medium. The charge stored in a capacitor depends on the area of the capacitor plates, the distance between the plates and the dielectric material between them.
To form the Air Capacitor, a pair of rigid aluminium plates (283mm or 200mm square) are positioned parallel to each other with air between them. Adjustable distance between the plates is from 1mm to 120mm, which is about 300pF down to 2pF (picofarad).
The circuit is protected against the plates accidentally touching. Electrical connection to each plate is by 4mm sockets and sturdy feet provide excellent stability. There are no parts to loosen, remove or lose.
