ENGINEERING PROJECTS WITH NI LABVIEW AND VERNIER
This lab book contains engaging hands-on projects for SensorDAQ, LabQuest LabQuest2 or LabQuest Mini. It introduces engineering concepts and programming with NI LabVIEW development software. An introductory knowledge of NI LabVIEW programming (see LWV Hands-On Introduction to NI LabVIEW book) is assumed.

Many important science and engineering concepts are explored including analog and digital input, sensors and how they are calibrated, feedback and control, analogue and digital output, servo and stepper motors, PID control, pulse-width modulation, voltage dividers and Wheatstone bridges.

Last 4 printed Lab Books available
• 12 ready-to-use student projects with challenge exercises
• Access to up-to-date versions of the experiments
• Essential instructor information including construction and programming tips and extensions
• Word-processing files of the student sections so you can edit the files to match your teaching preferences
• NI LabVIEW sample programs for all projects and challenges
• A generous site licence—buy one book and duplicate the experiments for your class
• One printed copy of the book

Electronic Version EPV-E
When you buy the electronic version of the lab book you receive all of the resources listed for the printed version
except a printed copy of the book.

Each of the twelve sensor-based projects that your students can build and program starts with a set of design requirements devoted to a specific engineering application. After the students have successfully mastered the goals set forth in the project, they are offered a challenge to further test their construction and/or programming skills. Some activities even offer an extreme challenge involving more complex logic or mathematics.

The activities are loosely ranked in order of increasing difficulty (Project 1 is easier than Project 12)
Table of Contents:
1. Build a Temperature Sensor
2. Digital Control Systems
3. LED Colour Mixer
4. Hot Wire Anemometer
5. DC Motor Control
6. Light Intensity & Stepper Motors
7. Servo Motors
8. Analysing the Heart with EKG
9. Blood Pressure
10. Strain Gage Measurements
11. Propeller-Powered Pendulum
12. PID Ping Pong Ball Levitation
