The RMV-BTD Vernier Rotary Motion Sensor is a bidirectional angle sensor designed to measure rotational or linear position, velocity and acceleration. It is used for a variety of investigations including:
• Measurement of rotational inertia
• Verification of the conservation of angular momentum
• Verification of the Law of Malus
• Studying the motion a physical pendulum
• Measurement of linear position for experiments such as the inverse square law of light
• Measurement of linear position for diffraction patterns or interference patterns
The AK-RMV Vernier Rotary Motion Accessory Kit provides a variety of items that add to the versatility of
the Vernier Rotary Motion Sensor and the Vernier Go Direct Rotary Motion Sensor.
Requirements:
The RMV-BTD sensor requires suitable software and an interface such as one of the Vernier LabQuest variations.

The kit can be used to study:
• motion of a physical pendulum
• rotational inertia of disks, rings and point masses
• conservation of angular momentum

2 x 89mm diameter x 6.4mm thick solid aluminium disks
1 steel washer with 29mm central hole

1 38cm hollow aluminium rod
1 Ultra Pulley
1 Ultra Pulley Swivel Mount, which allows the pulley to be mounted on the Rotary Motion Sensor
2 Masses with locking screws

• Maximum Speed: 30rev/s at 1° resolution 7.5rev/s at 0.25° resolution
