Wind energy is becoming an important part of the global energy mix. WindWise Education is KidWind's comprehensive wind energy curriculum for students in grades 6 to 12, designed to prepare them for a wind-powered future. This robust curriculum helps students understand how wind energy works while improving their science, technology, engineering, maths and social science skills.
The KidWind material engages students in a variety of aspects of wind energy development from energy efficiency and turbine design to wind-wildlife interactions. It enables students to improve their critical thinking skills by working through introductory concepts, real-life examples, map analysis and the manipulation of novel data sets.
WindWise was created with KidWind's public outreach and communications partner Normandeau Associates and included an advisory team of master teachers and wind industry professionals.
