IEC GEIGER COUNTER AND RATE METER WITHOUT GM TUBE
A fully portable Geiger Counter with LCD display powered by 3xAA batteries. The instrument is light, very robust and is useful for both classroom and field work.
It does NOT include a Geiger Muller Tube which can be ordered separately.
Fitted with the correct external Geiger Muller tube the unit can detect and count Alpha, Beta or Gamma particles continuously or over periods of 10, 60 or 100 seconds. Tube voltage can easily be adjusted up to 600V.
Counts can be selected to be continuous or counts over preset times or rate displayed as counts/second. Maximum geiger counting rate is 10kHz and an audible 'click' for each particle count may be enabled or disabled.
A low battery warning 'bAtt' displays momentarily without disturbing counting operations and a socket is provided for any standard 240/12V AC or DC Plug Pack. Polarity is not important. When not in use the unit will power down after four minutes.
